Kaady Explores “Wind Tower Power” in Vancouver
1.14.10 — Wind-generated electricity the latest in Kaady's commitment to “cleaning green”
View larger. As the next step in incorporating clean energy into car wash operations, the first wind turbine of its kind in North America has been installed at the Kaady Car Wash on Andresen in Vancouver, Washington.
The turbine will generate an estimated 3,800 kilowatt hours per year, based on an average wind speed of 15 MPH. (By comparison, an average home uses 10,000 kilowatt hours per year.)
Owner Chuck Kaady calls the wind power experiment the latest of many environmentally friendly, energy-efficient features that have long been part of the company's advanced technology. These include computer-controlled water and electric power management, environmentally safe shampoos and cleaners, and the reclamation of all water used in the car washing process.
Says Mr. Kaady: “We want to continue to be on the leading edge of our industry in helping protect our planet.”
